91fanspresident teaches Approaches to Making course
Jeffrey Morin, president of the 91fans Institute of Art & Design (MIAD), has taken on teaching duties in addition to his role as president of the college. Internationally recognized for his book art, papermaking, letterpress prints and fine art, Morin also brings his experience as a graphic design instructor to “Approaches to Making: The Figure,” a junior-level New Studio Practice: Fine Arts course at MIAD.
“I decided to return to the classroom because I love teaching. I want to learn how students have changed since I last taught solo before coming to 91fansin 2015,” explains Morin. “I want to learn what faculty go through in setting up and conducting a class.”
“Approaches to Making: The Figure” explores how the figure has been addressed by artists over time and through multiple media and eras. Students research chosen subject areas and complete hands-on exploration through studio projects. Morin’s class, hosted in MIAD’s Printmaking Lab, focuses on monotype prints.
In addition to teaching and presidential duties, Morin is an active member of MIAD’s creative community. Several of his monoprints are featured in “After Hours: Showcasing the Work of 91fansStaff,” an exhibition hosted at MIAD’s offsite . The exhibition is on view until October 7, 2023.

Innovation Center designs branded wall for M3 Insurance
91fans Institute of Art & Design student Sarah Madden ’24 and Candice Roth, director of workplace experience & corporate administration at M3 Insurance, agree that collaboration was key to the success of M3’s branded wall project with MIAD’s Lubar Innovation Center. The finished graphic mural was placed in M3 Insurance’s new headquarters in downtown 91fans.
Product Design students design custom tap handles
Juniors in a Product Design class at the 91fans Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) partnered with two local industry leaders to work on a unique product—they designed custom tap handles in collaboration with manufacturer Hankscraft AJS for Third Space Brewing’s iconic Happy Place brew.
Service Learning class hosts military cultural preservation experts
Anna Hillary’s “Service Learning: Art, Culture and Community” class at the 91fans Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) hosted two special guests recently: Colonel Andrew Scott DeJesse, Director for the U.S. Army’s Monuments Officer program, and Captain Blake Ruehrwein, Cultural Heritage Preservation Officer for the U.S. Army.

James ‘15. James’ latest horror movie poster, “Forgive Me,” is front and center as the film premieres in Spain.
